“Start to see with your Blue Mind,
don’t be afraid of what you find”
[...]
Water and the ocean are not only fundamental to our bodies, but also to our souls.
Marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols describes in his book “Blue Mind” the healing power of water and how it benefits emotions, health and physical well-being and he tells about the science that shows how being close to bodies of water can make you happier, healthier, more connected, and better at what you do.

In a few words, the term “blue mind” describes the mildly meditative state we fall into when near, in, on or under water. When you live with your Blue Mind, you are characterized by calm, peace, unity, and a sense of general happiness and satisfaction with life in the moment. You are more connected with yourself and with people and nature around you.
It’s the antidote to what we refer to as Red Mind, which is the anxious and over-stimulated state that often defines the new normal of modern life. Left unchecked, the Red Minds can turn to Gray Minds, stressed and overloaded.
Grey Minds are identified in depression and burn-out.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) depression affect more than 264 million people worldwide. It is characterized by persistent sadness and a lack of interest or pleasure in previously rewarding or enjoyable activities. The effects of depression can be long-lasting or recurrent and can dramatically affect a person’s ability to function and live a rewarding life.
In 2019 the WHO included burn-out in the 11th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases as an occupational phenomenon. Burn-out is a syndrome conceptualized as resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. It is characterized by feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion; increased mental distance from one’s job, or feelings of negativism or cynicism related to one's job; and reduced professional efficacy.
Being near water boosts creativity, can enhance the quality of conversations and enhance important parts of our lives like play and romance. Water helps us relax and it open our minds, and, in that moment, we come up with our best ideas.
Prioritise water in your life, it will always be the right choice. It’s all about getting out there and having that adventure at whatever level you’re comfortable with.
One of the requirements to achieve the Blue Mind is logging out, turning off and putting the screens away. When you do that, you are beginning to quiet your mind and do the first step into the Blue state of mind, experiencing new sensations. No technology can replace the feeling of looking into the eyes of the person you are talking to. Nothing can replace a smile or a hug.

“Happiness is real when shared” – wrote the protagonist of the movie “Into the Wild”. In fact, the second step to achieve the Blue Mind is travel with a hearth wide open in order to discover that beauty is everywhere and to enjoy at the fullest the relations with people you meet on your way.

Sharing Blue Mind all over the world give me the chance to achieve my mission:
reconnect people with Mother Nature.
Today is the 50th anniversary of the Earth Day. Since 1970, people on April 22nd celebrate our Planet and peace.
This year, as never before, we understand the importance of being connected with nature.
Let’s use these days of lockdown to truly understand what we lose, if we lose this connection. Soon, the restrictions in our daily lives will end but we can’t go back to our “normal lives” because they were not connected enough with nature, causing what we all know.
We need to be aware that our actions count. They have the power to influnce our present and to manipulate our future. So, the question is: WHAT FUTURE DO YOU CHOOSE?
Let’s find this connection. Let’s share love and education. Let’s share peace.
Let’s share Blue Mind.
If you want to discover more about what I wrote, please, watch these videos.
It will take just 15 minutes of your time but I am sure it will worth it.
The first one has been uploaded on YouTube two days ago and it has been realized by Global Wildlife Conservation & SeaLegacy. It tells about how we all have the power and the responsability to deeply change our impact on the Planet.

The second one, is the TedX talk of Wallace J. Nichols through which I discovered the meaning of Blue Mind.
